Misty

Misty was one of seven puppies born to a stray dog on the streets of Milwaukee. Our rescue trapped the mom, Sky, and took both her and the puppies (who were just one week old at the time!) in to our rescue. At Misty’s first vet visit, we learned that she had a grade 6/6 heart murmur, which meant something was very wrong. After a speciality appointment and cardiologist consultation, she was officially diagnosed with Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), which occurs when an important blood vessel in the heart doesn’t close after birth. Misty required a surgery that was over $5,000, but it went off without a hitch and she will now get to live a totally normal life!
